Following on from
September, October continued the calm and settled theme with the
weather being dominated by anticyclonic conditions. A warmer
than average month though there were some notably chilly nights
due to a high incidence of clear, calm and starry nights,
despite this there were no air frosts. It was also a dry
month with only 39% of the expected rainfall for October.
