A lovely dry, warm and very sunny month with the middle of the month dominated by anticyclonic conditions. Mean temperature 0.1C higher than Feb 2007. Normally dry and sunny Februaries would have been associated with cold conditions, but not with this month.

22 out of the 29 days had a day maximum temperature higher than 10C. There was a high incidence of clear, calm starry nights which led to many grass frosts (20 in total) but only 4 air frosts.
Rainfall was way below average with only 46% of the normal. There was a notable dry spell when rain failed to fall for 20 consecutive days from the 6th to the 25th.
There was no snow lying or falling at any point in the month, nor was there any hail, thunder or fog.
Sunshine levels were above normal. No cloud was seen at all from the 9th to the 14th. The 18th recorded 9 hours & 44 minutes of sunshine, this was 95% of the theoretical maximum possible for that particular day.
Soil temperatures remained relatively constant throughout and the month and were above normal.
This was generally a calm and settled month though the month did start windy with gales on the 3rd. Light wind conditions prevailed from the 7th to the 20th.
Only 34.8 hours had temperatures below 0.0C despite the prevalence of calm, clear nights.
Sea temperatures remained above normal throughout the month.
Mean pressure was 6.9 hPa above normal.
Notably low dewpoints caused by dry air from the nearby Continent.
With a relative humidity of 76%, this was 10% below normal.
