A generally dry, sunny and reasonably warm month.

Very warm during the 2nd week but otherwise temperatures slightly above the LTA but with a few cool nights mid-month.  Interesting to note that the night of the 28th had a minimum temperature of 15.7°C, this was warmer than any night minimum for the whole of 2007 and the highest night minimum since the 13th of September 2006 thus showing the lack of any really warm nights during 2007.  All months so far this year have had a mean temperature above the LTA.

Rainfall was well below average with a dry spell from the 6th to the 20th. Most of the rainfall for the month fell during the first week of the month.
As usual in a summer month there were no air or grass frosts.
Sunshine levels were slightly above average for June with the 2nd week being very sunny. No dull days but only 3 cloud-free days.
Soil temperatures remained around normal throughout.
This month saw a 'Return of the Westerlies' (after nearly 2 months dominated by winds from the east) with westerly and north-westerly being the dominant wind directions.

Sea temperatures rose gradually throughout the month and on the whole were around average or slightly above.
Mean pressure was was -0.4 hPa below normal and indicative of the generally unsettled nature of this month.
Dewpoints were generally quite low until the end of the month.
With a mean relative humidity of 71%, this was 5 percentage points below normal.
