June continued in the same way as May with generally unsettled, cloudy weather and some rain.

The temperature for June were around the average, though there were quite a few cool, or even cold nights as well. Two short-lived hot spells at the beginning and at the end helped raise the mean temperatures a little.
Rainfall was well above the average and is the first month this year to be much wetter than the LTA.
As would be expected in a summer month, there were no air or grass frosts.
Sunshine levels were rather below the long term average of around 220 hours. This was the dullest June since 2007.
Soil temperatures were slightly above normal at the beginning of the month and continued this way right through.
As with May 2011, winds were dominant from the west to north-westerly directions and the mean wind speed of 4.8 mph is high for June.
Rainfall duration was 40.8 hours, most of which was not heavy but light.
Sea surface temperatures were normal at the beginning of the month but generally fell back to a little below average at the end.
Mean pressure was a little below the average for June and indicative of the unsettled nature of this month.
Dewpoints were rather below average.
The RH ended up being below normal due to regular incursions of cool returning maritime polar air.
